An isotherm is a line on a weather map that joins every place where the temperature is the same at that time. Follow the line and the heat stays the same; cross it and you are moving into warmer or colder air. Forecast charts draw a few of these lines so you can see where a warm patch sits next to a cold one, or how far mild air has travelled. Like , this is a specialist's word: geography class and weather charts, not ordinary chat. Though actually, scientists also say isothermal when they mean something is being kept at one heat; that is the adjective cousin, not a second kind of map line. If you already know , you already know the shape of this word — same kind of line, different thing being held equal.
