Intergenerational means between people of different ages — grandparents and grandchildren, old workers and young ones, a class of teenagers talking with people in their seventies. Schools, families, and governments like the word: an intergenerational project might pair young people with older neighbours so both sides learn. It is a bit formal. At home you might just say for all ages or between the old and the young. Though actually, it does not only mean “old and young in one family”; a company can be intergenerational if three age groups work together. It is about age groups meeting, not about countries (that is international) and not about one person growing up (that is growing up, or a generation passing).
