- 1世代的、代際的
Generational means it belongs to one generation, or to the way different generations sit next to each other. A generation is a group of people born around the same time, or one step in a family (, parents, children). So a generational gap is the distance in habits and views between older and younger people; generational wealth is money and houses passed down the family line; a generational change is one that marks a whole age group, not just one person. Though actually, English has started using this word for heavier things too, like generational trauma — hurt that seems to travel from parents to children. That is a newer, more essay-like use. The everyday core is still ‘of a generation’ or ‘between generations’. It is an adjective: generational differences, not ‘a generational’ on its own.
