Interfaith describes something that brings together people of different religions — for example Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, and people of other faiths — meeting or working as themselves, not as one blended church. An interfaith service, dialogue, or council is a space where those differences are on the table. Unlike interdenominational, which stays inside Christianity’s church families, interfaith crosses the line between religions. You will hear it in the news, in school talks about society, and at community events. It is respectful, slightly formal English. Though actually, it does not mean that everyone now believes the same thing; it means they are willing to sit in the same room without pretending the differences are gone.
