Iniquity is the quality of being very unfair or evil, or one thing that is very unfair. In older English and in church language it is a big word for sin. In modern writing it still turns up, often a bit like a play: a den of iniquity means a place full of bad living. Everyday people would more often say evil, injustice, or just that's wrong. You can speak of iniquity as a general idea, or of iniquities as separate unfair or evil acts. Though actually, do not mix it with . is an unfair share. Iniquity is evil at the centre. They look like twins because they grew from the same Latin idea of “not equal,” but they grew apart.
組成From Middle English iniquite, from Old French iniquité, from Latin iniquitas, from iniquus (unequal, unfair, wicked), from in- (not) + aequus (equal, fair) + -itas. Piecewise doublet of inequity: same pieces, different road, and now a different meaning.
