Iniquitous means very unfair, and wrong in a deep, moral way — not just “not equal,” but wrong in a dark way. A law, a tax, a court, or a system can be iniquitous when it hurts people and that hurt feels evil, not only uneven. It is formal and a little old-fashioned. You meet it in serious essays, older books, and church language more than in chat. Though actually, many students mix this with . is unfair in a calmer, often legal way. Iniquitous makes the thing sound wicked.
