Infrequency is a noun meaning the fact of not happening often. If buses have infrequency at night, they simply do not come often. The word is correct, but it is stiff; it belongs in reports and school essays more than in chat. Though actually, even in careful writing many people prefer ‘how rarely,’ or they switch to the adjective: the buses are infrequent. You do not need this noun to sound intelligent. Use it when you are naming the ‘not-often-ness’ itself, for example in a study: the infrequency of the side effect.
