Incontrovertibly is the adverb twin of incontrovertible: it tells you how something is shown to be true — in a way that cannot be argued away. You will see it in formal writing: “incontrovertibly true,” “the records show, incontrovertibly, that…” It has the same courtroom-and-essay feel as the adjective. Though actually, dropping it into the middle of a small sentence (“This is, incontrovertibly, the best snack”) can sound grand, even a little comic, because the word is built for proof, not for everyday likes. In speech, most people just say “clearly” or “there is no doubt.”
