Incomprehensibility is the noun: the quality of being very hard or impossible to understand. If a text has this quality, readers cannot get the meaning — the words, the ideas, or both, sit out of reach. It is a long, formal word. Essays, reviews, and jokes about bad writing use it (“the incomprehensibility of the instructions”). In speech, most people just say they cannot understand it. The trouble can be language that is too hard or too messy, or an idea the mind cannot hold.

組成in- (not) + comprehensible (able to be understood) + -ity (the quality). The comprehend piece comes from Latin comprehendō, “to grasp / to understand.”
