Implantation means putting something firmly into a place, usually inside a body, where it will stay. Doctors talk about the implantation of a small device, like a pacemaker for the heart, or a dental implant for a tooth. In biology, it also means the early stage of pregnancy, when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the inside of the (womb).
