As a noun, an implant is something a doctor puts inside your body to stay there — like a dental implant (a fake tooth root) or a breast implant. As a verb, to implant means to put something firmly into a place, either physically (implant a device) or as an idea (a teacher can implant an idea in a student's mind). Notice the stress changes: IM-plant (noun) but im-PLANT (verb) — that's a common pattern in English.
植入物(名詞)/植入(動詞);牙科植牙常直接說「植牙」
組成im- (into) + plant (to put something into the ground so it grows) — so implant literally means 'to plant something into.'
同家族的字
- plantthe root word — implant means to plant something INTO a place
- transplanttrans- (across) + plant — to move a living thing to a new place, like an organ transplant
