If you do something impartially, you do it without taking a side — you judge, decide, listen, or speak in a fair way. It is simply the adverb of impartial: it tells you how the action is done.
If you do something impartially如果你公正地做某件事, you do it without taking a side就是不偏袒任何一方去做它 — you judge, decide, listen, or speak in a fair way公平地評判、決定、傾聽或發言。 It它 is simply the adverb of impartial只是impartial這個字的副詞形式: it tells you how the action is done在說明這個動作是怎麼做的。
A teacher who marks papers impartially uses the same standard for every student. A reporter who impartially does not load the story to help one party.
A teacher一位老師 who marks papers impartially公正地改考卷 uses the same standard for every student對每個學生都用同一套標準。 A reporter一位記者 who writes impartially公正地寫報導 does not load the story to help one party不會偏向某一方來扭曲報導。
It is a rather formal word; in easy talk people say “fairly” or “evenly.” Fairly is broader, though (it can also mean “quite”). Impartially is narrower: it always means “not choosing a team.” You place it with the verb: decide impartially, treat them impartially, be judged impartially.
It is這是 a rather formal word一個相當正式的詞; in easy talk在輕鬆的口語裡 people say “fairly” or “evenly.”大家會說「fairly」或「evenly」。 Fairly不過fairly is broader比較廣, though (it can also mean “quite”)(它還可以指「相當」)。 Impartially這個詞 is narrower比較窄: it always means “not choosing a team.”永遠是指「不選邊站」。 You place it with the verb你會把它放在動詞旁邊: decide impartially公正地決定、 treat them impartially公正地對待他們、 be judged impartially被公正地評判。
