Hubby is a cute, informal word for husband — the man someone is married to. You might hear it in relaxed family talk, in light magazines, or said with a smile: “I’ll ask the hubby.” It is not rude, but it is not for a form, a wedding speech, or a serious essay; there you say husband. Some people find it old-fashioned or a bit sticky-sweet. Younger speakers may just say partner, or use the person’s name. It is mainly spoken, slightly playful English.
