    A horsewoman is a woman who rides horses. She may ride for fun in a park, or she may ride in and shows; the word itself does not tell you if it is a hobby or a job. It is the old pair-word of , and you still meet it in clubs, horse shows, and books. These days many people just say rider for a man or a woman, so horsewoman can sound a little old-fashioned, though it is not rude and not a joke. It never means a female horse.
