Homesickness is that sad, pulled-back feeling when you are far from home. It is the noun: you feel homesickness; you are . Though actually, it is not only for people who have left a country. A child at a relative’s house overnight can have it. It often comes in , strongest at night or at meals, and it often eases when the new place starts to feel known. Teachers and parents use this word kindly. It does not mean you are weak.
