- 1
A homegirl is a female friend from the same place as you — the same neighbourhood, the same circle, sometimes the same group or gang. She is a female homey: the sister word of homeboy, built as home plus girl. Young people say it, especially in African-American and Latino American English, in music and in casual talk. It can be warm (“she’s my homegirl”) or simply a way to point to a woman from your area. Like homeboy, it is informal, and outside that world it can sound copied from films. It does not mean a girl who likes to stay home, and it is not a polite word for daughter.
姊妹、自己人(homeboy 的女性說法;不是「待在家的女生」)
組成home + girl; compare homeboy.
