    Holography is the method and the science of making holograms. Think of the three-word family this way: a hologram is one picture; holographic describes that kind of picture; holography is how you make it — the lasers, the recording, the way of looking so the picture has depth. The word is holograph plus -y, the ending English often uses for a field of work, as in photography. If you only need the everyday shiny sticker, you want hologram. If you mean the whole craft, you want holography.
