Hereabouts means somewhere near the place where you are, or near the place you are talking about — around here, in this neighbourhood, in this stretch of country. It is a rough “somewhere in this area,” not a pin on a map. The word sounds a little old-fashioned or country-like; many people now just say around here. Though actually, it is not the same as herein. Hereabouts is about a physical area you could walk through. Herein is a paper word: in this document or this situation. And the -s on the end does not make it plural. You cannot have two hereabouts the way you have two shops. It is just an old way English once built .
