Grenadine is a sweet, thick, red liquid used in drinks. It is made from , the fruit with many seeds. Bartenders pour a little into a glass to make the drink pink or red and to add a fruit-sugar taste. It is a syrup, not alcohol by itself — though people often mix it into cocktails that do have alcohol, and also into drinks for children. You only need a splash; it is very sweet. This entry is the drink syrup, not the country Grenada and not the bomb grenade, even though French grenade is sitting behind the name.
