Granita is an Italian sweet: water mixed with coffee or fruit juice, frozen, then crushed into rough little ice pieces. It is not smooth like ice cream, and not as fine as some slush drinks. You eat it with a spoon, very cold, often in summer. Lemon and coffee are classic flavours. In English it still feels borrowed, so people who know Italian desserts use the word; a café may just say iced lemon if it is not being careful.
