Gracious describes someone who is kind, polite, and warm, especially in a situation where they didn't have to be — a gracious host makes every guest feel welcome and comfortable, and a gracious winner is kind to the person who lost instead of bragging. There's an old-fashioned use too: people used to say 'goodness gracious!' or just 'gracious!' as a soft of surprise, similar to saying 'oh my.' You mostly hear that use from older speakers now, or in old books and films.
