In a book, film, or game, a goodie is someone on the “good” side — the hero, the kind , the one you are meant to cheer for. People often talk about the goodies and the , the way children split a story into good guys and bad guys. It is informal, a little playful, and more British than American (American speakers often say good guy). The ending -ie makes the word sound small and friendly. This is the story-character meaning. The other everyday use — goodies for snacks or little gifts — is a different job of the same spelling.
