If you are goggle-eyed, your eyes are wide open and fixed on something, especially because you are surprised or shocked. It is a casual, slightly funny-looking word — you can almost see the round eyes. People use it about children at a show, or about someone staring at a famous person. Though actually, it can also just mean the eyes look round and sticking out, not only the surprised feeling. It describes the face, not a kind of glasses.
