    Go-karting is the sport — or the fun afternoon — of driving those small open racing cars with four wheels. The car itself is a go-kart; go-karting is what you are doing when you race it. You go to a track, put on a helmet, and drive as fast as the place allows. People say go go-karting the way they say go swimming. Though actually, it is not only for children: adults race too, and some are serious. The word names the activity, not the machine.
