1. 1

A go-kart is a very small racing car with four wheels and an open frame. You sit in it, but there is no roof, and often not even a proper body around you. People race them on a special little track, for fun or in competitions. Children and adults both do it. The kart sits low to the ground and can look a bit like a toy, though actually it can go surprisingly fast, so you wear a helmet. You also see the spelling go-cart, and kart by itself for the same little car; books usually write go-kart. The activity of racing them is go-karting.
