Glucose is a simple, natural sugar. Fruit has it; so does honey; and your blood carries it as the body's main ready fuel. When someone at the clinic talks about blood sugar, they usually mean blood glucose. It is not the same thing as table sugar: the white stuff in a sugar bowl is , which the body splits into glucose and another sugar, . Plants make glucose, and we take it in with food; the body can also make it from other things if it must. In science writing you will meet it as a building-block sugar (a monosaccharide). Everyday English keeps the word for fruit, energy drinks, and medical talk.

來自法文 glucose，源自古希臘文 γλεῦκος「新酒、葡萄汁」。
組成From French glucose, from Ancient Greek gleûkos, 'sweet new wine' (must). Later chemists read it as gluco- + -ose; the sugar ending -ose in other names was taken from this word.
