A glamazon is a tall, striking, very dressed-up woman — the kind of beauty magazines put on a red carpet. The word mixes glamorous with Amazon, the tall warrior women of old stories, so it pictures someone both fashionable and physically imposing. You meet it in newspapers, fashion copy, and celebrity gossip, not in ordinary conversation. It is playful, English. Though actually, it can feel objectifying: it talks about a woman’s body and clothes as a type, the way a headline would.
