Give-and-take is what happens when two people or groups do not each insist on winning every point. Each side gives a little and takes a little, so they can live or work together. It can mean the spirit of that — a willingness to meet in the middle — and also the back-and-forth itself, like a lively talk where both people speak and listen. You hear it about friendships, families, teams, and deals. It is everyday English, not a lawyer’s word, for “we both move a bit.” Without give-and-take, one side just takes.
give-and-take 指兩方都不堅持每一點都要贏，各自讓一點、也拿一點，這樣才能一起生活或工作。它可以指一種精神，也就是願意在中間相遇；也可以指來來回回的互動本身，像兩個人都說也都聽的熱絡談話。友情、家庭、團隊和交易都會用到。這是很日常的英語，不是法律用語，意思就是我們雙方都退一點。沒有 give-and-take，就只有一方在拿。
