- 1地質(學)的
Geologic (a slightly shorter way of saying 'geological') describes anything related to geology — the study of rocks, the earth's layers, and how the earth changed over millions of years. You'll hear 'geologic time' (the huge stretches of time the earth has existed) or 'a geologic formation' (a natural rock structure).
From the word’s history
geology + -ic.
由 geology「地質學」加 -ic 組成。
組成geo- (地球, earth) + log- (study, from the same root as 'logic/-logy') + -ic (adjective ending).
