Gabonese means “from Gabon” or “about Gabon”. As a noun, a Gabonese is a person from that country, and “the Gabonese” can mean the people as a group. You can say Gabonese food, a Gabonese writer, or “She is Gabonese.” It is Gabon plus the ending -ese, the same family of ending as in Chinese or Japanese. Though actually, English is messy here: we say Ghanaian, not Ghanese, so you cannot guess every country word — you just learn this one. Do not use Gabonese as the name of the country itself; the country is Gabon.

組成Gabon + -ese (the ending that makes a country-word into “of that place” or “a person from there”).
