    A funnywoman is a woman whose job is to make people laugh — a comedian. Like funnyman, it is newspaper language, built to look parallel. You will see it in headlines more than hear it at the dinner table. Though actually, many people now just say comedian for a woman too, and the older word comedienne feels dated to some. Funnywoman still turns up when a writer wants a short, job label.
