Fricking is a slightly rude word people push into a sentence when they want to sound strong, angry, or very surprised — “the fricking door won’t open.” It does the same job as the heavy swear word fucking, but speakers change the middle so it sounds a little softer. It is still not polite. You will hear it in informal American talk, and on TV that wants to sound rough without using the full swear. Formal writing, school, and careful older speakers will not use it. You will also hear frickin’, with the g dropped; in speech it is the same word. People use it like a loud “very,” not like a dictionary meaning of its own.
