Fraudulence is the noun for the quality of being meant to trick people, in a way the law treats as wrong, so someone can get money, power, or some other gain. If a plan or a set of papers is fraudulent, its fraudulence is that trick-quality sitting in it. It is a stiff, formal word. In real speech people more often say 'fraud' or 'it was fraudulent'. You will see fraudulence in careful writing — law, reports, essays — more than you will hear it.

組成From Old French fraudulence, from Latin fraudulentia, from fraudulentus ('full of fraud') + -ia (a noun ending). Fraudulentus is from fraus 'fraud' + -ulentus 'full of'.
