A foldaway thing is built so you can fold it up and put it out of the way when you are not using it. People say it of beds, tables, desks, and ironing boards — the sort you keep in a small flat. Open, it works like a normal bed or table; folded, it stands against a wall or slides into a cupboard and takes much less room. You will also see fold-away with a hyphen. Foldaway is a little more about vanishing after use than folding is: a folding chair may just be a chair that bends; a foldaway bed is often meant to disappear. It can be a noun too: we slept on the foldaway. Ordinary home English, not fancy.
