A fluorocarbon is any chemical whose make-up includes and carbon. Makers have used such chemicals in cold machines, in non-stick pans, and in special plastics. Though actually, not every fluorocarbon is the same: some older kinds also contain , rose into the sky, and hurt the ozone layer, so many countries stopped those. The word is technical. It names a family of chemicals, not one famous product.
