A flume is a long, narrow path built for water to run down. In the mountains, people used flumes to carry water or to slide logs downhill. At a water park, the big tube you sit in and slide down is a flume too, and that is the meaning most meet first. The word is a little specialised outside that fun sense, but it is the ordinary name for those slides.
