A flowerpot is a small pot, usually plastic or clay, that you fill with soil so a plant can live in it. Clay ones look old-fashioned and let a little air through; plastic ones are light and cheap. People also say plant pot — that is the same thing, more or less. A huge tub in the street is more of a planter. A flowerpot is the one on a or a balcony.
