Floodlit means a place is lit up at night by floodlights, so people can see. A floodlit stadium, a floodlit pitch, a floodlit building. English almost always prefers floodlit to floodlighted, though the longer form turns up once in a while. It tells you about the lighting, not about water. You use it for those strong outdoor lamps, not for an ordinary lamp in a room. Sports writing loves it: a floodlit night match.
