Feldspar is a kind of mineral — hard stuff that many rocks are made of. It is usually grey, white, pink, or pale, and it is one of the most common minerals in the outer layer of the earth. Granite has a lot of it. It is not a jewel you wear; it is a science-and-industry word (glass and pottery use it). You meet it in a geology class or a textbook, not in daily talk.
