Falsity is the quality of being false — not true. It is a rather formal, abstract noun. We talk about the falsity of a statement, a , or a belief. It sits close to falsehood, but they are not quite twins. A falsehood is often a lie someone told, a thing you can point at. Falsity is more the untrue-ness of it, the quality. You can hear the school-essay tone in “the falsity of this argument”. People do not use it for a small everyday fib; they save it for when they want to name the not-true-ness itself.
