Evasive describes someone who avoids giving a clear, direct answer, usually because they don't want to tell the truth or commit to something — 'he gave an evasive answer' means he dodged the real question. There's also a physical meaning: 'evasive action' means quickly moving to avoid danger, like a car swerving to avoid a crash, or a plane changing direction to avoid an attack.
