To envision something is to make a picture of it in your mind, especially a future, and often a future you think could be good. A founder envisions a tool everyone uses. A parent envisions their child at university. A mayor envisions more parks and fewer cars.
Though actually, it sits right beside , and many good speakers treat them as twins. The small shade is this: envision leans American, visual, and hopeful — you see the picture. leans British, and can be a dry plan with no pretty picture at all. Both are for the not-yet. If the thing is already in front of you, you just see it; you do not envision it.
