Something entrancing is so beautiful or interesting that you give it all your attention — an entrancing voice, an entrancing story, an entrancing view. It describes the thing that holds you, while entranced describes the person who is held. Same feeling as a waking dream, not a doorway, and not “going in.” It sounds a little like writing or a kind review; in everyday talk people often say beautiful, , or I couldn’t look away instead. Though actually it is a little stronger than nice: if you call a song entrancing, you mean it took you, not just that you liked it.
