    An entomologist is a scientist whose work is entomology — the study of insects. They look at what insects are, how they live, and how they help or hurt farms, forests, and people. They may work in a university, a museum, or for the government. The word names the person, not the subject: entomology is the field; the entomologist is the one who does it. In casual talk someone might say “insect scientist,” but entomologist is the real job title. You will meet it in news about bees, , or new bugs on crops.
