    Enthralling means extremely interesting — the kind of interesting that holds you. A book, a match, a talk, or a journey can be enthralling. It is stronger than “interesting” and a little more grown-up than “.” Though actually, it is close to thrilling, and students often treat them as twins: thrilling often has speed, danger, or a jump in the chest; enthralling is more “I cannot look away because this is so rich or so well told.” You can sit still and still find something enthralling. It is a compliment to the thing, not a claim that it was noisy or scary.
