If you are enervated, something has already made you feel tired and weak. We use it as an adjective: an enervated patient, an enervated city in the afternoon heat. Same formal, flavour as — you will read it more than hear it. It describes a drained state, not a quick yawn. A person can be enervated after fever, after too much heat, or after weeks of worry.
