An empty-headed person seems silly, as if there is nothing useful going on in their head. It is a picture-word, not a doctor’s word, and it can sound . You meet it in stories more than in careful talk today. It is close in feel to . Do not use it of a who is only quiet, young, or still learning — that is a different thing from being silly.
empty-headed 形容一個人看起來很傻，好像腦袋裡沒有什麼有用的東西。它是形象化的說法，不是醫學用語，而且聽起來常帶刻薄的意味。現在比較常在故事裡見到，正式的談話中很少用。意思上和 airheaded 很接近。
它指的是看起來傻，所以安靜、年紀小或還在學習的同學，不屬於這個意思。那些情況跟傻是兩回事。
