EFT stands for electronic funds transfer. It is the bank’s name for moving money from one account to another by computer — not by handing over cash, and not by writing a paper . You see the letters on English bank forms, pay slips, and business email: “payment by EFT,” “EFT deposit.” One movement of money can be “an EFT”; the method is “pay by EFT.” It is business-formal. In everyday Taiwan talk, people usually say 轉帳 or name the app they tap; they meet EFT when the English paperwork uses it.
