    Effusively means “in an effusive way”: you show your good feelings out loud and with energy, not with a small, stiff nod. “She thanked them effusively” means the thanks overflowed — more words, more warmth, maybe a hug. Same tone as the adjective: a little formal, and it can hint that the warmth was rather a lot, though actually the person may be completely sincere. Keep it for glad, grateful, feeling. Someone shouting in anger is not speaking effusively.
