    E-voting, in this sense, is voting on the internet: you choose from a computer or phone instead of marking paper in a voting place. Clubs, companies, and some governments try it so people far away can still take part. Though actually, news stories also use e-voting for machines inside a voting place, with no internet from home. That is a looser use. People argue about internet voting: it can be quick, but some worry a hacked system could change the count, or that you cannot hold a paper and check it. The word is used in news and official talk more than in kitchen conversation.
